Overview

This is the perfect tour if you would like to visit the capital of Taiwan, Taipei while having a day off from your cruise! Your private English speaking (any other language on request) and licensed guide/driver will pick you up from Keelung Port to show Taipei to you in one day. Afterwards, the guide will bring you back to Keelung where the cruise will continue.

As your cruise will continue in the end of the afternoon/beginning of the evening, you will have to be back at the Port of Keelung at 16:00. Therefore, your guide will bring you back to the Port of Keelung at around 15:15 (the drive is approximately 45 minutes).

What To Expect

TAIPEI 101 Observatory
Taipei 101 is impossible to miss with its 508mt held the title of the world's tallest green building until 2011. Observation decks are on the 88th and 89th floors, with an outdoor deck on the 91st floor opened on some occasions, weather permitting. Don't miss the massive goldcolored iron wind damper that keeps the tower stable through typhoons and earthquakes.

Sun Yat Sen Memorial Hall
The National Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall was built in 1972 as a tribute to the founder of the Republic of China. The hall contains displays of Sun's accomplishments from the revolution during and after the fall of the Qing Dynasty, and today is a meeting ground for various social, educational, and cultural activities. Although the hall's main purpose was intended to display historical relics of Sun's life and the Xinhai Revolution, it later was opened to performances and exhibitions. Visit the Memorial hall and watch the changing of the guard.

Longshan Temple
Founded in 1738 by Han immigrants from Fujian, this temple has served as a municipal, guild and self-defence centre, as well as a house of worship. These days it is one of the city's top religious sites, and a prime venue for exploring both Taiwan's vibrant folk faith and its unique temple arts and architecture.

Chiang Kai-Shek Memorial Hall
The Chiang Kai-Shek Memorial Hall and the area surrounding it is one of the most prominent landmarks in Taiwan and is also one of the most popular destinations for tourists visiting Taipei with thousands of people showing up each day. The Memorial Park covers an area of over 240,000 square meters and during the Japanese Colonial era was a military base. The expansive park consists of three large buildings.

Ximending
Ximending is the source of Taiwan's fashion, subculture, and Japanese culture. Ximending has a host of clubs and pubs in the surrounding area. This area is known as the most important consumer district in the Western District of Taipei. The well-known Ximending Pedestrian Area was the first pedestrian area built in Taipei and is the largest in Taiwan. When you are going there, also don't miss The Red House. This building was built by the Japanese in 1908 and is nowadays known as a historic theater.
